Let the Games Begin! Qualfon Launches 22 Fun Clubs for Employees in San Antonio

Qualfon, a mission-driven business process outsourcing (BPO) company and global provider of contact center services, has launched 22 fun clubs at its contact centers in San Antonio, Texas, giving employees reason to get in the game, hone crafting skills, share common interests, and give back to the community.

“We now have 22 fun clubs and we have launched them all in just a matter of months,” explained Freda Sullivan, Mission Office Site Coordinator for Qualfon San Antonio.

When Qualfon acquired the business of Culture.Service.Growth earlier this year, they discovered a culture rich in team work and a giving spirit. It didn’t take long then, for the Mission Office to roll out employee perks to the new San Antonio sites. As a part of the Mission Office Fun@Work initiative, employee-run fun clubs are the norm at Qualfon, and employees in San Antonio quickly embraced this mission program.

“There’s a real demand for these types of activities at our centers. Our people are looking for new outlets that will help them get engaged and stay healthy and energetic. Sports and fitness-themed clubs are our most popular with close to 100 total members,” added Sullivan.

A total of roughly 200 employees are participating in the fun clubs, and the gamut runs from books and music to Dungeons & Dragons, event planning, community service, and crochet. Each club idea originated from an identified interest among employees, who were polled as part of the program launch.

“It all started with an open house event and sign-up sheets. A lot of clubs have grown very quickly,” said Sullivan. “Each club has a president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer, and these clubs are theirs to grow and nurture. While I initially help set up the operating framework for the clubs, the employees are the ones that keep the momentum going with meeting planning and new activity ideas. These leaders are really acting on the Qualfon company mission to Make Peoples’ Lives Better.”
