Qualfon, a mission-driven business process outsourcing (BPO) company and global provider of contact center services, has donated funds to help support the construction of the new Mano Amiga Academy, which will serve underprivileged children in Manila, Philippines and provide access to international-quality education for grades K-12. Qualfon sponsored the construction of one classroom at the Mano Amiga Academy, located at Betterliving, Paranaque City and due to open for the 2016-2017 school year. Comparable with the best private schools, the academy will provide scholarships to roughly 75 children from the lowest income brackets. The program also promotes the education of values, skills, health development, as well as other services tailored to the needs of the community.

“For many years now, Qualfon’s Founder, Alfonso Gonzalez, has been watching the Mano Amiga network of schools achieve its mission to transform students’ lives. Their high school graduates attend college with a rate of 90% or higher, so we’re very inspired by this success and moved to support the Mano Amigo schools both in the Philippines and in Mexico,” explained Roberto Sanchez Mejorada, Chief Mission Officer, Qualfon.
Mano Amiga’s mission is to educate the underprivileged community in order to break the cycle of poverty and transform the next generation. This mission to transform lives resonates closely with Qualfon’s own mission—Be the Best BPO. Make People’s Lives Better.
“Qualfon’s partnership with Mano Amiga Philippines is one of the first mission-related partnerships we have created in Manila, and there will soon be more,” explained Sanchez Mejorada, adding that Qualfon’s Mission Office programs in Manila are currently in the very early development stages. The Qualfon Manila contact center grand opening ceremony is scheduled for August 4th, which will mark the official business kick-off and further initiate Mission Office services and programs.
“Our employees in Manila are already taking the lead in planning activities to support the local orphanage, school supply drives, and families in the neighborhood that were affected by a recent fire. Last week, some of our agents visited Caritas Manila (a non-profit that provides social services) to inquire about charities and programs that need more support,” said Manuel Alcobendas, Site Director, Qualfon Manila. “When Qualfon opens a contact center in a new city, the local people and organizations soon learn that we do more than just business. We’re working to make lives better.”
